Any have experience with overcloaking?

Particular the ASUS / AI Booster?

I've never done overclocking on any machines, but the board / process combo I have, people are saying they are able to close to double the processing speed of the Core 2 Duo.

Right now, it's running @ 1.6 GHz

FSB is 800MHz

Using 200 x 6 modifer. (Default)

Some people have said they've gotten this MB/CPU to 3.6GHz, which is probably on the extreme end of things. I'd like to settle in around 2-2.4GHz, which is about where the cooling effectiveness would start to die off.

I assume it's using some speed stepping... 200 x 6 would equal 1.2GHz, while the 200 x 8 would equal the 1.6GHz.

Would I be looking at just setting 300 x 8 to get the 2.4GHz?

Also heard that you can overclock the PCIE also...

Yeah I've seen people say they've overclocked it to 3.6ghz. Not sure really how to do it, but I know its a lot easier then it use to be lol. Never heard of anybody overclocking the PCIE.

I always overclock my CPU, first I start with the 10-20% your BIOS allows you to do and after that I start with using the manual settings. First you have to search the internet for people with the same hardware you have and see what they did. 90% is Bios overclocking setting different variables.The rest is the serious shit messing with hardware and connecting lines on your mobo or cpu. windows overclock programs might work but most are just crap. If you start overclocking, always do it step by step and run diagnostinc programs to test your settings and its stability. It takes some time to find the best variables for your setup, and always make sure you check the temperature of your cpu and if possible your mobo.
