So... past 8 months... what has changed? I heard about speed nerf. w00t!

How's the lag in battles of 100 vs 100 or 500 vs 500? Desync? Spent hours building and setting up ships, only for them to go pop without firing a shot?

Macro miners still around?

Team speak & forum hackers, spies still playing their meta gaming tricks?

Super caps are the "I Win button" still?

I doubt much has changed with the above in the last 8 months, but I thought I'd ask

Any new ships or nice mods been introduced?

Last time I was in EVE, was during the new introduction of "align to" button.

Welcome back man! I assume you don't still have your old Eve account? Lag has gotten a lot better. It's still buggy sometimes but it's better than not working at all. Only new ship I think is the Orca, a hi-sec carebear ship similar to the rorqual, except it doesn't do ore compression and it looks like a giant Hershey's candy bar. Yes there are macro miners still around, always will be. Still lots of metagaming but most people have adapted and it doesn't affect much anymore like it used to.

I think there's been a big improvement in the lag situation in recent months. What else has changed? We've got a TGRAD outpost, there's a huge war about to start/in progress depending on your point of view, your former toon is a logistics hero, we exploded two Titans, and we're in Morsus Mihi.

Yeah the old accounts are no longer mine.

That Jump Freighter was the best thing I purchased. It was my income ship and it made it a doddle to refuel POS and export the moon materials.

I do miss it in that respect and I'm just hoping the game has changed for the better, since last time. The game really got boring at 1 point... build ship, fit mods, spend hours getting to battle, stand off, no war or when there was a war, the lag was just horrendous, ship pops before you even know what happens, podded, back to square 1 again.

Is this still the same?

I haven't heard of anyone getting black screens lately, or getting popped before firing shots. Unless of course you get DD'd.

Lag has greatly improved, we had a battle with 1,200 in system without much lag. Capital fights are usually fights now instead of one sided lag fests.

Still needs works, but definitely improved from before. Lowsec can still be pretty laggy as the technology hasn't been fully deployed to all EvE servers yet.

Hmmm I am still ummm'ing and arrrr'ing.... not YARRrrrr'ing.

Do I REALLY want to start the game from scratch again? No ISK, no ships... will I end up in the same place again in a year or so? Spending ages building up an armada, spend literally hours going to battle, lag out and then end up in a pod/station. I think the way I will decide this, is to take a shuttle into battle with you all and see how it handles the load.

I did hear about the Titan kills briefly and I must admit, that rocks! So TGRADs are plonking an outpost down? Which sort?

If I do, then I best change my nick from AnarchistUK78 to something different, as there's already AnarchistUK

Arrrrgh so tempting to get back into it, but it's going to take some serious training and .... mining!

Oh yeah, should I train Amarr, as they're the top damage dealers now? I suppose that would be a change for me, as all I knew was Caldari and knew hardly anything about the other races.

The lag isn't anything like it was... the 5-10-30 minute lag is pretty much gone... you still get the 15-30 second lag, which hopefully will be improved.

Next upgrade is to Inifiband, then to the HPC cluster, so it's only going to get better in the next year or so.

The game today, will not be the same come March expansion... followed by another game changing upgrade schedule for Winter.

It's about £25 ($35) for 60 day code isn't it? That gets me how much ISK?

How much ISK would a decent char cost? How much SP should I aim for? I had 42mil on my 2 previous chars.

EDIT:- Just checked chars normally cost 15bil ISK+ so that'd be quite a few hundred £££ buying enough time codes

Yeah, 60d GTC's are selling for 650M + typically atm. More if you sell the 30d PLEX ingame.

You can get an almost capital ready toon for 2-3b... 5-6b if you want a cap toon.

Prices do vary, so you have to watch the threads quickly... usually if you have isk in hand, you can send a BO offer and get it cheaper then waiting for it to finish.
